Americk Packaging showcased its NaturSense packaging for the fresh produce and baked goods markets, among others, at Hispack 2015.
Developed with the fresh produce and baked good markets as its primary beneficiaries, the company has since been approached by retailers in reference to other markets, including; meat & fish, cheese, deli & salads, alcoholic beverages, frozen foods and tea & coffee.
Over the past year the firm has run trials in fresh produce and is currently participating in further trials with more products. Initial results have shown an increase in shelf-life of up to 40%, which using figures produced by WRAP mean NaturSense could save over £1bn in waste each year.
