An entry level horizontal flowrapper, developed as an affordable
and practical solution for small and medium size bakeries, has been
launched by Ulma Packaging.

The Spain based manufacturer claims the Florida 1 can incorporate a range of automatic and semi-automatic feeders and its three independent motors are synchronised by means of an electronic control.

The Florida 1 uses intermittent operation cross seal jaws specially designed for bakery and bread applications, the manufacturer claims.

The bag length is regulated in line with the product length via a photoelectric sensor and a timer. However, it is possible to change the sensitivity of the sensor for various films, such as cellulose or polypropylene.

The equipment operates in a left to right direction, and comes with a two meter belt infeed conveyor. Three pairs of rollers pull and seal the horizontal film fed from self centering reel holder with brake system.

Dependent on product dimensions and film used, Florida 1 can process up to 150 packs per minute, the manufacturer claims.

Operators can input the machine parameter settings, such as bag length, pusher position, via the touch screen control. The touch screens also display operational status of the equipment and error messages.

The cantilever construction allows easy access and cleaning to the Florida 1, its manufacturer claims.

Ulma offers a range of options for the Florida 1 including automatic feeder for trays as well as different types and various lengths of infeed conveyor.

Further options include functions to prevent bagging errors and a photoelectric sensor for centering of print registered film.

Options are also available for right to left flowrapping and stainless steel construction for wet environments.

Ulma's unveiling of the Florida 1 follows another bakery flowrapper launched earlier launch this year. The Atlanta, was aimed for those bakeries with medium to high volume production levels.

Established in 1956 in Onati, Northern Spain, Ulma Packaging has grown into a group, with subsidiaries in 14 countries throughout the world. With 40 years of experience and with a team of over 400 people, the company can offer a wide range of innovative solutions for virtually any packaging requirement in the food and non-food sectors.
