Fogg Filler Company, a leading manufacturer of rotary liquid filling systems, has launched new Neck Rail and Neck Grip technologies to add to its line of Fill Pro filling systems.

Unlike traditional bottle handling, which uses starwheels and pedestals to transfer and lift containers as they are filled and capped, Fogg Neck Grip assures positive neck position throughout the system, the company says.

Neck Grip 'hands-off' the container at each of the critical transfer points and maintains a grip on the container throughout. Efficiency is said to be extremely accurate because the container is held at the point nearest the filling valve. The system is primarily aimed at critical applications.

Fogg's Neck Rail is also said to eliminate bottle guides and pedestal lifts, streamlining product changeover. Once the height is set, shorter bottles can be used without changing the transfer mechanism because the transfer plane remains constant from size to size.

Like the Neck Grip option, Neck Rail is preferred in higher throughput applications, especially those with lightweight PET (15gm) containers where panelling is a concern; frequent container size changeover, non-contact filling or systems using air-conveyors.

Other Fogg innovations include the Fill Pro filling system, Untouchable meter valve and Clean Guard enclosure.

Fogg Filler Company is a world leader in the design and manufacture of rotary filling, rinsing, capping and enclosure systems for free flowing and viscous liquids. It serves a growing number of dairy, water, food and beverage, pharmaceutical, and consumer product goods companies in the United States, as well as Central and South America, Europe, the Middle East, Asia and the Pacific Rim.
