Poland has confirmed a new case of BSE in one of its cows, as
figures suggest the disease has crept forward in the country amid a
rapid fall in outbreaks elsewhere in the world.
Higher prices and lower grain costs largely offset down volumes in
Tyson Foods' meat lines, but ongoing BSE restrictions have helped
drag down the company's bottom line.
Public concern over BSE outbreaks is set to boost sales of organic
meat products in North America, according to a new report. But
North Americans have not historically been as influenced by food
scares as their European counterparts.
