The limited-edition Mountain Dew Cheetos have hit shelves across Japan
PepsiCo has developed another beverage-inspired flavor for its Cheetos brand in Japan – this time, Mountain Dew.

The snack major has launched the limited edition snack across Japan just months after its Pepsi-flavored Cheetos in August, 2013.

Frito-Lay Japan also developed cream stew Cheetos to the market at the end of last year – set to hit shelves across the country in March 2014.

Innovation expert, Steve Osborn from Leatherhead Food Research, previously told BakeryandSnacks.com that PepsiCo was clever launching innovative snack flavors into Japan.

“It is interesting they have introduced it into the Japanese market given it is such a progressive and innovative market with different taste profiles and preferences to the West,” he said.

The Mountain Dew Cheetos are only available in Japan, but can be purchased online.
