Tate & Lyle has completed its first clinical study on the consumption of its soluble corn fibre (SCF) on the glucose response in an Asian population, with the research suggesting it can offer significant benefits.
Cocoa husks, a waste product from the chocolate industry, could
offer a valuable source of dietary fibre for the low-calorie food
segment, Spanish researchers report.
A complex carbohydrate, traditionally used as a bulking agent in a
range of foods, is being offered in several European markets as a
new source of fibre.
Research now underway will provide the means to develop novel forms
of bread, and other foods, which contain increased amounts of
soluble fibre, making them far healthier than they currently are.
