The company said that the development of its newly released CyBake v3 was based on specific demands from its existing bakery clients who requested applications to ease credit control and allergen tracking as well as finished product and raw material specification functionality.
“Management of cash flow for the baking sector, in these recessionary times, was a fundamental driver behind the design of our latest software, said Jane Tyler, managing director of RedBlack.
She told BakeryandSnacks.com that this version of the bakery industry software allows customer payments to be processed through CyBake itself and thus replaces the traditional approach of using an accounts package such as Sage to process sales receipts.
“Our bakery clients, through the sales ledger function, will be able to see in real time at a glance up-to-date customer account balances and credit limit information which aids trouble shooting.”
The company has also worked on improving specification management to ease administration by enabling a bakery’s sales office to bypass the technical team when following up a customer request for the specification of a particular product.
Tyler explained that, in addition, the specification function also enables the technical experts to determine if any ingredients are missing for the purpose of compiling with quality and food safety standards.
RedBlack’s software is mainly targeted at small and medium sized bakery enterprises in the UK and Ireland and the company has been trialling CyBake v3 with existing clients before its general release.
Ann Scott from Wild Confectioners, a company which includes a biscuit manufacturer under the brand name Grandma Wilds, told this publication that the software has resulted in less labour intensive allergen labelling.
“Prior to using this application, we had to do our allergen tracking manually. Now it automates that process for us.
“The software is highly flexible and we are currently looking at tailoring it to bring the warehousing side of our business under control. Long term, we see it as being an essential tool in terms of reducing our overall operational costs,” added Scott.
According to Tyler, the CyBake v3 also includes a new invoice matching system, as well as allowing users preview batches of invoices before they are printed.
The software, added the company, is available as complete package or as an upgrade for existing CyBake users.
