A new version software designed for the food supply chain offers
more functions to help integrate order-to-cash processes with
external systems.

Infor's Infor ERP Adage is a platform-independent enterprise resource planning (ERP) software designed especially for food and drink processors among others. Such software helps automate supply chain processes, possibly lowering costs for manufacturers and providing a more accurate picture of their operations. Integrating such software with that of suppliers and clients is essential to make it work properly. Infor said the latest version of its ERP Adage includes a new graphical user interface, more functionality for order-to-cash processes, and expanded integration capabilities with external systems. Improving the order to cash process is a strategic priority for many companies because it can help lower the cost of delivering products and with complying with quality standards. The order-to-cash process impacts multiple departments including sales, production and finance. Infor claims that the new additions, such as advanced pricing deductions and consolidated invoicing, allows companies to complete their part of the process error-free and then transfer accurate information across functional boundaries. "These new features build upon Infor ERP Adage's strength as a complete end-to-end offering that minimises the total cost to serve, increases operational efficiencies and improves profitability," the company claimed. Adage now supports local regulatory, compliance, language and currency requirements for global businesses with multiple facilities or wholly-owned subsidiaries, the company stated. "Process manufacturers face pressures from globalisation, regulatory compliance complexity and the need for more effective quality management," said Mike Frichol, a Infor vice president. "With these latest enhancements, Adage continues to ensure compliance, collaboration and information transparency across extended supply chains -- a necessity for businesses seeking to improve the flow of goods, eliminate waste and gain efficiencies." Adage 5.0 includes functions to help it integrate with complementary applications such as product lifecycle management, enterprise asset management and warehouse management. The integration helps companies to develop and introduce new products with higher margins and manage complex inventory and manufacturing requirements, Infor claimed. "This interoperability extends the value of a business's IT investment and lowers total cost of ownership - a key benefit for companies with few or no IT resources," the company stated. Infor ERP Adage is designed for batch process manufacturers with a particular focus on food and beverage, specialty chemicals, over-the-counter pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, and consumer packaged goods.
