FoodProductionDaily.com caught up with Jean-Marc Passemard of Cermex at last month’s Emballage show in Paris to talk about the company’s innovative end-of-line packaging system.

The sales manager said the new SD/P5 Combi machine is the first to incorporate a 6-axis parallel-link delta robot which brings the picker’s movement capacity ever-closer to that of a human hand.

The case packing and palletizing unit is configured for a new stand-up pouch application, and has innovative performance in terms of both movement and payload capacities, said the company. This is allied with an increase in power that allows it move payloads up to 6kg, an attribute that widens its potential use across the food packaging industry.
