Cermex launches new generation PR robot palletizer at Emballage

Cermex has introduced a robot palletizer which it claims offers fluidity, efficiency at the operator level and security in the cell.

The position of the operator in relation to the machine determines its speed, Jean-Marc Passemard, sales, promotion and press relations manager for Cermex, told FoodProductionDaily.com at the unveiling of the machine at Emballage 2012 in Paris.

The new generation PR is a 2-station robot palletizing unit and the first machine to come from the Cermex and Newtec synergy.

Laser scanners analyze the position of the operator in the enclosure to adjust the robot speed and it is auto-activated as soon as the operator enters the enclosure.

The door slides alternately so as to only block the station where loading is being carried out, leaving clear and direct access to the second station for interventions such as pallet infeed or removal

Three zones have been defined within the enclosure of the palletizing unit:

  • yellow zone: audio and luminous warning when a risk zone is approached
  • orange zone: automatic reduction in the robot speed
  • red zone: automatic safety stop of the robot
