Mondi said growth in demand coupled with higher prices for its products and strong performance from its restructured operations all contributed to a 73 per cent leap in its full year operating profits.

Packaging said yesterday it will close its Centralia, Illinois
laminations plant in the third quarter of 2005 and raise prices for
its board and resin products.

paperboards division of ITC has taken the initiative to create an
awareness among domestic consumers to safely package food products
from indigenous sources.
Caraustar Industries, the US-based recycled packaging company,
announced that it will raise prices for its entire tube and core
product line by up to 8 per cent. The increase will apply to all
shipments from 24 June 2002.
Longview Fibre Company, the US-based packaging provider, has
announced that its net profits fell to $15,000 (€16,000) for its
second fiscal quarter ending on April 30, compared with $4.4
million, the previous year.
