Caraustar price increase

Caraustar Industries has announced that it will raise prices on uncoated recycled paperboard grades by $40 (€40) per ton.

The increase will become effective with shipments on August 23, 2002.

This increase is necessary in order for the company to recoup further dramatic increases in recovered fibre costs, especially increases in "Old Corrugated Container"​ that have occurred in late June and early July. The company said that it is continuing to review all areas of operating costs in an attempt to mitigate the effect of cost increases to customers.

Caraustar, a recycled packaging company, is one of the largest manufacturers and converters of recycled paperboard and recycled packaging products in the United States. The company serves the four principal recycled paperboard product markets: tubes, cores and cans; folding carton and custom packaging; gypsum wallboard facing paper; and miscellaneous "other specialty" and converted products.
