Salon du Chocolat 2022
Salon du Chocolat set to gather tastemakers with return to Porte de Versailles
The annual gathering of some of the best chocolatiers in the world will highlight pastry-making skills, chocolate makers, ice cream makers, bakers and confectioners.
Last year’s event took place as an ‘act of faith’ by the organisers still dealing with Covi-19 restrictions, but was nevertheless a success attracting over 60,000 visitors and 120 exhibitors from cocoa-producing countries, master chocolatiers, pastry chefs and ‘young artisans of taste’.
"Our event has always had to highlight the excellence of an entire profession, said Gérald Palacios, president of the Salon du Chocolat.
He said the Salon is almost back to full strength this year and a great show is guaranteed for all gourmet enthusiasts. The 27th edition of the Salon du Chocolat will search for balance between the good and the beautiful, the prestigious and the responsible, the traditional and the original, ‘the pleasure of the ephemeral’ - along with the durability of a sector.
Along with live events like the chocolate fashion show, numerous competitions and demonstrations, the Salon du Chocolat will also offer an opportunity to meet cocoa producers from São Tomé and Príncipe, Venezuela, Peru and Madagascar.
As well as a trade fair that is open to the public, the Salon du Chocolat also hosts discussions on sustainability with a series of conferences on the Cacao Show stage to highlight the challenges of cocoa farming.
