IDEX buys Matcon to tap into Asian marketplace

IDEX Corporation has acquired Matcon Group with the aim of increasing their global customer base in one of their fastest growing segments.

Matcon will be integrated in the Health and Science Technologies segment in the Materials Processing Technologies platform.

The UK-based firm provides material processing solutions for high value powders used in the manufacture of food, plastics, and fine chemicals.

Products include Intermediate Bulk Containers (IBCs), blenders and washing systems to maintain clean, reliable and repeatable formulations of prepackaged foods, to help them achieve lean and agile manufacturing, said the firm.  

Andrew Silvernail, IDEX chairman and chief executive officer, said: “Matcon provides not only key technologies, such as their cone valve, but also increases the visibility of sales opportunities throughout our Material Processing Technologies platform.​”
