Convenience Food Systems, the Netherlands-based processing and packaging equipment provider, has launched a new thermoformer which is said to stretch the number of applications for medium production packaging requirements.

The technology and design of the new Masterpak are geared to the familiar CFS standards: modular design, PLC control with Profibus and a unique selection of add-ons. For example, drawing depths of up to 150 mm are possible with the system which can run film widths of 460, 520 and 560 mm. The company also says that, thanks to a broad spectrum of different film heating, forming, evacuation and gassing systems, the machine covers the entire range of different packaging types - from MAP, soft and hard to foam film.

The system also includes an interesting solution for operation. A swivel terminal with a large touch screen and self-explanatory user prompting makes handling the machine both more efficient and user-friendly.

The integration of labelling solutions has also been accounted for in the design of the system. This means that if a new programme is loaded onto the Masterpak the TiroLabel labeller automatically takes over the appropriate labelling programme. To supplement this, CFS offers an array of printing and coding solutions, such as flexographic printers, rotary printers, inkjet systems, hot stamp printing, thermotransfer printers, etc.

CFS is a world-leading supplier of preparation, marination, further processing and packaging solutions, primarily for the meat, poultry, fish, seafood and cheese industries. This global organisation offers the most extensive range of advanced solutions on the market. The company has research and development facilities in both the Netherlands and the US, backed up by a global marketing and manufacturing network.
