The enormous growth rate in China's packaged and processed food and beverage markets is fuelling the interest that has led to the ProPak China show in Shanghai.

Held from 9 to 12 July, ProPak's organisers expect that exhibitor numbers will increase by around 40 per cent this year, compared to last year's show.

The organiser, Hong Kong Exhibition Services, also claims an increase in the number of advance registrations from overseas visitors for this year's show. In 2001, the show had a total of 18,376 trade visitors with 41 per cent of visitors from cities outside Shanghai. More information is available at the dedicated website.

This is the eighth successive year that the show has been held and again it will be focusing on a cross-section of exhibitors involved in the processing, packaging and printing. This year's show will feature ten international pavilions and will have exhibitors from some 23 different countries.

Companies participating at ProPak China 2002 with independent stands include major industry names such as Anritsu, Bossar, Clearpak, Elecster, Heat & Control, Imaje, International Paper, Ishida, KHS, Nimco, Mettler-Toledo, Procomac, Shikoku Kakoki, Sacmi, Siemens, Sipa, SMI, Techgen, Topak, Volpak and Willet, Zhong Ya.
