Following the 8th International Processing, Packaging and Printing Exhibition in Shanghai, ProPak China has been designated as the official industry expo in China.

In a ground breaking agreement the China Packaging Technology Association (CPTA) plus packaging associations and industry groups from 8 leading packaging and processing nations gave their support for ProPak China 2003 to take place at SNIEC, Pudong, Shanghai from 8-11 July 2003.

The announcement was made at the inaugural meeting of the ProPak China Advisory Panel, hosted by Hong Kong Exhibition Services - Shanghai Office (HKES), organisers of ProPak China and representatives from various European, American and Asian representative bodies.

"The benefits of this comprehensive support to both exhibitors and visitors will be tremendous. As in most industrial nations there will be one event around which the whole packaging and processing sector in China can unite. We are confident that the growth we have seen in ProPak China over recent years will be accelerated in 2003. Firstly as a reflection of continued buoyant market conditions and secondly due to the rationalisation of competitive shows, resulting in an bigger and better event for everyone." commented Vicky Leung, ProPak China Project Manager, HKES.

ProPak China 2002 took place 9 - 12 July, at Shanghai's new international class venue, SNIEC in Pudong. This was the third year running the show had to find a new home in order to accommodate it's growth.

ProPak China 2002 grew by 40 per cent in area over the 2001 show and comprised of 338 companies from 24 countries and regions including 8 international pavilions from the Czech Republic, France, Germany (Bavaria), Japan, Spain, Taiwan, UK and USA showcasing the latest processing, packaging and printing solutions to 9,583 of China's top trade buyers.

"The Chinese food industry make good products but our packaging is poor, ProPak China 2002 offers an excellent opportunity for us to see a wide range of alternative packaging and processing technology at one time - no other show in China attracts so many international companies." according to Jiang Zhan You, General Manager, Shanghai Mailing Food Company.
