SpudLove celebrates National Potato Chip Day with one-of-a-kind objet d’art
The handcrafted bowls epitomise the fun of potato chips, with each as unique in shape and texture as an individual SpudLove Organic Thick-Cut potato chip. These are 10% thicker than traditional kettle chips and slow-cooked in small batches, which creates more folds and bubbles for maximum crunch.
To honour the 24 hours of National Potato Chip Day, the US farmer-owned and farmer-grown snack brand is giving 24 lucky fans the opportunity to claim one of these novel bowls, along with a 24-count box of its chips.
The multi-dimensional servers are made from resin, but also contain actual full-sized SpudLove chips scattered throughout and are food safe up to 105°F (40°C). They measure approximately 10 inches (25cm) in diameter and seven inches (18cm) deep, with the capacity to hold two 5oz packs of SpudLove chips. They also feature a gilded gold top for a touch of elegance.
Show off your love of spuds
“We wanted to do something fun and different to celebrate the joy that potato chips bring and the love people have for them. Afterall, our name captures what National Potato Chip Day is all about,” said Shaila Garde-Lester, chief marketing officer of SpudLove Snacks.
“We’re letting people show off their own spud love with a literal chip bowl made out of chips, for serving chips. What could be more fun for a potato chip lover?”
The competition is being hosted for one-day-only (Monday, 14 March) on SpudLove’s Instagram page. The brand has also partnered with food influencer Sarah Wohlner to give away one of the bowls on her Instagram page. It also offering a 25% discount on Amazon for its nine-count 5oz bags of Sea Salt chips.
Other flavours in the SpudLove portfolio include Sea Salt & Vinegar, Barbecue, Cracked Pepper and Jalapeno. The thick-cut chips are USDA-certified organic, Non-GMO Project Verified and certified gluten free, available in retail stores across California, Pacific Northwest and Texas, as well as nationally online direct from the company, on Amazon and other online retailers.
