In the US, BOC is currently exhibiting a range of new technologies, products and services at the International Poultry Exposition in Atlanta, Georgia from today until 24 January, 2003.

The company will highlight freezing and chilling technologies, ozone and ultra-violet light pathogen intervention technologies, state-of-the-product monitoring and control technologies, in-plant process water re-use systems and plant-wide water management services. BOC can be found at booth 651 in exposition hall C, section C4.

Bill Baker, vice president food markets, BOC, said: "BOC has been a reliable supplier of industrial gases and related technologies to the food processing industry for more than three decades; however, we are much more than a gases company. We are also a leading provider of solutions to the poultry industry's processing and food safety concerns."

In addition to its cryogenic impingement freezer and other freezing and chilling equipment, BOC will be exhibiting a line of ozone and ultra-violet light systems. "These are proven microbial interventions for food, food contact surfaces, marinade treatment and equipment sanitation, and are also validated food safety technologies that can be incorporated into a company's HACCP plan," Baker said.

BOC will also be showcasing its new water management services. "Our knowledge and experience in tailoring processing solutions for the food industry is well-established," Baker added. "With the acquisition of the St. Louis-based Environmental Management Corporation (EMC), we now have the capability to design, operate and manage a processor's entire water system from supply through processing to waste water treatment."

Visitors to the BOC booth will also be able to learn about the BOC SafeQuest technology, which includes multi-point, in-plant water re-use systems and water-based food safety applications.

Thinkage, a BOC food venture company that uses BOC's proprietary Think Gates service and technology offering to monitor and control the state of the food product as it moves from one processing cell to another, will also be exhibiting at the show. Thinkage can be found at booth number 4715.

BOC Group, a worldwide industrial gases, vacuum technologies and distribution services company, serves two million customers in more than 50 countries. It employs 46,000 people and had annual sales of some $6 billion (€5.6bn) in 2002.
