Alocoa, the US packaging solutions provider, has introduced a new line of more heat-tolerant Reynolon PVC shrink films, aimed at the packaged foods market.

Reynolon Plus Series Shrink Films are designed for high-speed applications when lay-flat is critical for machine efficiency. The improved lay-flat is obtained through the film's higher heat tolerance characteristic provided by a proprietary process. Reynolon Plus co-polymer films also provide improved puncture-resistance compared with current Reynolon PVC shrink films.

The shrink films are manufactured at Alcoa's Grottoes, Virginia Plastics Plant. Currently, Alcoa has four Reynolon Plus co-polymer films available for various applications: Reynolon Plus 4233, 6233, 4244 and 6244 biaxial shrink films. All four Reynolon Plus films are available in single-wound and centre-folded rolls in standard gauges and widths. Alcoa will introduce new Reynolon Plus shrink film formulations featuring low shrink and preferential orientations in the near future.

Alcoa is the world's leading producer of primary aluminum, fabricated aluminum and alumina. Alcoa Flexible Packaging is an Alcoa business manufacturing converter foil extrusions and it has introduced a revolutionary series of PVC co-polymer shrink films.
