Baking industry professionals have an opportunity to solve some pressing dough related issues, such as gluten-free and cleaning efficiency at WP Bakery Group's "Dough Weeks" event.

Taking place across the months of July, August and September, the event will be open to businesses both face-to-face and remotely with their online platform meaning increased accessibility for a wide array of businesses all over the world.

Problem solving opportunity

The event is balanced between technical and practical elements, demonstrating both the theory behind the technology as well as giving customers a chance to test ride and consequently solve some of their production queries.

Speaking with BakeryandSnacks.com, WP Bakery Group's marketing manager Ansgar von Garrel pinpointed some of the potential issues and solutions the event deals with. “Part of the production process is the cleaning of the machines. Here the baker can waste valuable resources when spending too much time to clean. With our CleanTec label, we offer machines which are specially designed to be cleaned quickly and efficiently.”

Responding to the growing consumer demand for the production of gluten-free foods, the event offers a focus on associated production concerns. “When producing bread, we use our Superba Compact long and round moulder which we specially tested with gluten-free dough,” said Von Garrel.

For companies producing high quality rolls, WP Bakery Group demonstrates its Aroma Cooling technology. “With long resting time and a special cooling technology, the dough pieces can be baked with more quality,” explained Von Garrel.

WP Bakery Group will continue to divide this ongoing series of events into different topics such as dough. Moving forward it will look at roll production and bread, hoping that the lengthy time allocated to each special area will result in an in-depth, customer lead experience.

Online platform means globality

The online element of the events means the type of customers signing up for events has been broad, ranging from small German bakers to established, international and industrial bakers. “We have welcomed people from Japan, Australia and Sudan,” said Von Garrel.

A diverse client base means a varied collection of concerns, and with this event WP Bakery Group aims to address them all. According to Von Garrel, the company hopes to help its customers to “produce products with added value with our equipment. When bakers have control over their production process, they can achieve high margins at controllable costs.”
