The technology was recently exhibited at Pack Expo in the US and can blend and apply slurry seasoning to extruded and dry snack products.
tna intelli-flav 5 comes with a single tank and up to six precision spray nozzles, monitoring the under-surface mixing of the oil and seasoning powder to deliver a homogenous mix for a product with reduced slurry or product waste.
“Shorter production runs with regular flavor changes have become the norm for a lot of our customers as they try to respond to consumer demand for greater variety,” said David Woollard, group product manager, Seasoning, tna.
“However, for many, slurry mixing still remains quite a labor and time-intensive, batch-by-batch process that doesn’t always produce the consistent, quality product they require."
The tna intelli-flav 5 features a compact, single tank design with a low volume reservoir (50l/13gal) ensuring minimal waste during frequent flavor changes of short production runs, but is equally suited for high volume throughput levels.
In combination with an advanced spray nozzle design, snacks are coated evenly with less tumbling requirements.
The system’s nozzles also come with tna’s atomizing air control technology for an even slurry flow that reduces blockages.
