Cadbury Special Occasions biscuits (UK)
Burton’s Biscuit Company is hoping to accelerate growth in out-of-home consumption with a new portion-pack format for its Cadbury Special Occasions range, produced under license from Mondelez International. Rolling out this month, the boxes of four individual snack packs – each containing two biscuits - replace the current tray format used for Cadbury Dairy Milk, Cadbury Crunchie and Cadbury Wispa biscuits. Burton’s has invested in new technology to flow-wrap and carton the packs. “Demand for biscuits that can be eaten out of home, or on the move, is rising sharply,” said Burton’s head of category & shopper management David Costello. “The portion packs performed well in consumer research, with shoppers identifying the benefits of improved portion control and the opportunity to enjoy these household favourites when and where they choose.”
