Privately owned Arthur Branwell and Company Ltd has been supplying a wide range of commodities and speciality functional ingredients to food producers for over 100 years. Originally focussed on the sourcing and processing of hydrocolloids and gums , the company’s product range has grown over the decades to include single ingredients through to complex blends containing gums, emulsifiers, acidulants, enzymes and other functional ingredients that are used in many well-known food brands across the world.
Since 2000 the company has been supplying speciality lipids that have been processed using cryogenic spray crystallisation technology. This area of the business is rapidly growing with these free-flowing powdered fat products being used in ready meals, confectionery, meat and vegan meat-substitutes and more recently the bakery ingredient blenders and Industrial bakeries.
Headquartered in Epping, just north of London, Arthur Branwell and Company supplies customers across the globe from its production facilities at Braintree in Essex. As well as its UK base the company supplies its customers through its own sales offices in the Czech Republic, Russia, Spain and China and has a global network of distributors and agents.
