Competition details

The awards are seeking solutions that demonstrate a commitment to tackling the food industry’s greatest challenges, including sustainability; alternative proteins; food waste; supply chain innovation; food safety and traceability; emerging technologies; and novel ingredients.

Entrants must highlight their projects’ creativity, scalability, and potential for real-world impact. Whether it’s pioneering climate-friendly supply chains, developing alternative proteins, or leveraging AI to transform food production, the emphasis is on innovation that delivers both economic and environmental value.

If you’re an innovator in the Americas region, now is the time to act. Submissions for the Americas heats are now open, with the 28 February entry cut-off fast approaching. Don’t miss this opportunity to put your ideas in front of a panel of esteemed judges, each bringing a unique perspective to the evaluation process. These include a food tech researcher to assess the novelty and credibility of the innovation; a sustainability expert focused on benefits to people and the planet; a market specialist who will evaluate scalability and competitive advantage; a specialist familiar with what CPG and venture capital firms are seeking; and a FoodNavigator editorial member looking for the ‘X factor’ or star quality of the innovation’s backstory.

The novelty of each entry will be a focal point, assessing how groundbreaking and original it is within the food tech space and whether it addresses unmet needs. Market opportunity will also be critically evaluated, with judges seeking evidence of commercial interest, success, and real-world applications.
