Two original artworks made entirely of ‘Cheetos dust’ by pioneering multidisciplinary artist and illustrator Lefty Out There (aka Franco Campanella) commanded a price tag of $2,500 each during Art Basel in Miami Beach.

The PepsiCo Frito-Lay brand collaborated with Rock the Bells, a global lifestyle brand founded by LL Cool J, to host a one-of-a-kind, hip-hop inspired art exhibit during Miami Art Week.

Art Basel is a privately owned international art fair staged annually in Basel (Switzerland), Florida and Hong Kong.

‘Yacht The Basel: The Art of the Cheetle’ was an exclusive one-day event that took place on 4 December on a 220-foot, four-story mega yacht docked at Bayfront Park in downtown Miami.

After sunset, the SeaFair set sail around the harbour, enthralling invite-only guests to Cheetos-inspired canapes, cocktails and live performances by artists like Just Blaze, Kaash Paige, DJ Millie and Nyla Symone.

Lefty Out There curated the exhibit and also created eight original art pieces using Cheetle, the now-confirmed designation for the powdery residue that sticks to one’s fingers when eating a bag of Cheetos.

Bold, dynamic and vibrant, as well as intricate, the progressive artist successfully transformed his signature squiggles into unique masterpieces. Two of the works commanded a price tag of $2,500 each during the auction.
