A pop of fun in the sun

Popcorn Kitchen has unveiled its latest range of flavours, following a steady growth of the company’s gifting arm.

Founders Louise Webb and Andy Valentine have added Lemon Drizzle, Choc Orange, Choc Mint and Raspberry White Choc to their expanding portfolio, including Cheddar Cheese, made with 30% cheese powder that rated high in exploratory retailer taste trials. The all-natural brand also has no tolerance for artificial flavouring, colouring or sweetener short-cuts, and is suitable for vegetarians and coeliacs.

“We have been wanting to extend our reach into bold Vs overtly finicky flavours, which exude British provenance for some while, on the non-negotiable proviso that our new, head-turning flavours meant no relaxing of 1st principles; namely, no synthetic shortcuts, a truly satisfying crunch and all-engulfing flavours,” said Webb.

“Fortunately, our unflinching commitment to superior, full-bodied mushroom popcorn (vs fragile butterfly corn) ensures the perfect flavour rendering surface, less bottom-of-the-bag popcorn shrapnel and a truly crunchy (never soft & soggy) texture.”

Valentine added, “Popcorn Kitchen’s unrivalled blend of artisanal popcorn snacks, gift packs and treat portfolio means Popcorn Kitchen is ideally suited to online, discerning hamper operations, Leisure, Garden Centres, Corporate Gifting and Speciality Retail, Grocery and thoughtful export opportunities (e.g. Bookshops in Estonia).”

Popcorn Kitchen is available in UK retail outlets like Selfridges, Harvey Nics, Cotsworld Fayre and independent farm shops and delis, as well as online on Holland & Barrett, Joules and Cress.

Kick off summer

Kettle Chips

Kettle Brand is getting into the summer zone with some new flavours.

Kettle Brand Organic Country Style Barbeque was inspired by the simple life found in the country. According to the snack producer, the sweet and smoky organic potato chips are best paired with lemonade and a porch swing at sunset.

Kettle Brand Honey Dijon are extra tangy and extra sweet thick-cut chips.

Kettle Brand Farmstand Ranch are crunchy, creamy and herb-blasted.

And finally, Kettle Brand Bourbon Barbecue Chips feature an irresistibly sweet and smoky southern barbecue flavour that is reminiscent of the notes of real barrel-aged bourbon.

Available from leading retailers across the US.

Tropical getaway for your tastebuds

Pringles is embracing the coming summer heat with a sweet and spicy trip. Inspired by tropical destinations like Mexico and Hawaii, the snack producer has created limited edition Pringles Wavy Pineapple Habenero that deliver a tangy, smoky taste in a thick, wavy crisp.

“We love epic flavour combinations at Pringles, and these new tropical-inspired crisps are no exception,” said Gareth Maguire, senior director of marketing for Pringles.

“The sweet and spicy flavour will have snackers in vacation mode all summer long, making backyard grills and local beach trips feel like a getaway.”

To sweeten the deal, Pringles is giving fans the chance to win a tropical escape to either Hawaii or Mexico. Simply purchase a can of the Pringles Wavy Pineapple Habanero chips, take a pic of the receipt and upload it Kellogg’s Family Rewards by 14 October 2021.

Pringles Wavy Pineapple Habanero are available for a limited time in the US at Walgreens and Duane Reade stores and online, while supplies last.

Special K has teamed up with actress and producer La La Anthony and Black Girls RUN! to launch the first-ever Special 5K, a virtual race that turns every kilometre into a donation for people in need.

For each 5K completed, 100 meals will be donated via Feeding America, and the Kellogg’s brand is aiming to donate 2.5 million meals. With more than 42 million people projected to experience food insecurity this year, the time is ripe to help Americans do something good for themselves – and others.

The virtual race is free and open to everyone, making it easy for everyone from newcomers to marathoners to lace up and complete a 5K (or just a part thereof).Between 8-30 June, participants are invited to rack up as many Ks as they can complete, because, as Kellogg’s says, ‘doing what feels good shouldn’t have a limit’.

The collaboration marks an extension of a partnership between Special K and Black Girls RUN! that kicked off earlier this year to make enjoyable wellness more accessible and attainable for men and women nationwide. The project unites specialists in physical wellness and fit motivation with the nutrition experts.

“Special K has been inspired by the members of the Black Girls RUN! community in cities nationwide, so we wanted to create something together that would further encourage feeling good while doing good via The Special 5K,” said Cindy Huntington, brand director at Kellogg.

“In doing so, we are thrilled to continue to partner with Black Girls RUN! and celebrate their mission of helping more people make healthy living a priority.”

Added Anthony, “I am constantly inspired by the strong women I surround myself with, and the empowering members of Black Girls RUN! are no exception,” said Anthony.

“I’m so honoured to join this team and launch the Special 5K, because with the support of friends and an impactful goal to motivate us, we can do even more good in the world. Let’s reach that goal together – we got this.”
