With the snacking craze more prevalent than ever, the California-based producer recognised the need for a cleaner, healthier snack centred around an ingredient that is loved by many.
According to the USDA, per capita consumption of avocados has tripled since the early 2000s and the bright green, creamy fruit is known to be one of the healthiest superfoods in the world.
“We all know that everyone loves avocados, so we set out to create an irresistibly amazing new way to enjoy them,” said Andrew Aussie, president and founder of Earnest Eats.
The novel snack is made with slices of real avocado that are freeze-dried and simply seasoned with sea salt and spices. Available in three flavours – Sea Salt, Sea Salt Lime and Roasted Chipotle – Earnest Eats Snacking Avocadoes are vegan, keto, gluten-free and non-GMO, along with being high in fibre, sugar free and packed with healthy monounsaturated fats.
Made with real Hass avocados, the nutritious snacks are always in season – without the worry about ripeness or spoilage – and can be enjoyed on their own as an healthier alternative to chips, or added to salads for a crunchy twist.
Sneak in the superfood
“With everyone in work-from-home mode, we made our new Snacking Avocado to be a Zoom call favourite without the guilt,” added Aussie.
“We were tired of seeing processed chips and other snacks with crazy long ingredient lists and with Snacking Avocado, you can satisfy that savoury craving, but feel great about what you’re eating.
“It’s an easy and convenient way to sneak this superfood into your diet … and, the best part is, you’ll never have to worry about having ripe or fresh avocados.”
Each bag contains one 160-170 calorie serving, featuring 15g of healthy fats, 2g of net carbs, 7g of fibre, and zero added sugar or preservatives.
Earnest Eats Snacking Avocados can be purchased at Erewhon Market and Urth Caffé locations, as well as online on Amazon and the brand’s website for an RRP of $3.49 per unit (0.6 oz) or $27.99 per multi-pack (eight units).
Earnest Eats – founded in 2006 – creates nourishing foods ‘made with superfood ingredients that spread good vibes’, including its new Snacking Avocado, Protein & Probiotic Toasty, Protein & Probiotic Oatmeal, Superfood Oatmeal Cups and Bags, and Almond Butter Baked Bars.
The Solana Beach-based producer not only makes ‘consciously earnest’ snacks, but puts ‘Good Out’ in the world, too, giving $0.05 per sale to the International Rescue Committee, which provides emergency aid and long-term assistance to refugees and those displaced by war, persecution, or natural disaster.
