Informa Markets’ analysis into the ‘State of the Nation’ on the upcoming Vitafoods Virtual Expo examines how the coronavirus pandemic has affected consumer perceptions and trends.

Informa will present its ‘State of the Nation’ report on the interactive online platform on September 11, 2020, at 09h00 BST.

The data for the report was drawn from surveys carried out by FMCG Gurus during the initial peak of the COVID-19 pandemic from April to July 2020, with over 23,000 respondents questioned per month in 18 countries across Europe, Asia-Pacific, North and South America, Africa and the Middle East

“The State of the Nation report looks at consumers’ attitudes and purchasing behaviours, and the impact this might have on what comes next for the industry, including the how COVID-19 has affected behaviours,” said Chris Lee, MD, Health and Nutrition Network, Europe, at Informa Markets.

“There have been some fascinating insights around changing consumer perceptions and trends this year already, as well as more focus towards advancing sustainability. Many important learnings have also emerged around how our approach to health and wellness, beyond basic hygiene measures, needs to evolve to support a healthier, more resilient future.”

Immersive online experience

Informa has opened registrations for Vitafoods Virtual Expo, to be held from September 7-11, 2020. According to the organiser, the platform offers attendees an immersive online experience to encourage the sharing of ideas and innovations, and create partnerships.

“Our data-driven ‘matchmaking’, speed networking and secure online meetings will cultivate global connectivity, while our six Thematic Micro-Communities, and over 50 hours of content – from webinars, main stage presentations, podcasts and reports – will really help drive the industry forward,” added Lee.

Visitors and exhibitors are encouraged to create their virtual profiles, schedule meetings, view the event agenda and start to personalise their experience ahead of the live date.
