Ferrero’s Cristiano appointed new president of Caobisco

Ferrero’s Aldo Cristiano has been elected as the new president of Caobisco European chocolate, biscuits and confectionery association.

Cristiano was nominated by the Federal Association of the German Confectionery Industry (BDSI) and since May 2019 he has been chairman of the Chocolate Goods division and vice chairman of the BDSI.

He has been with Ferrero for over 20 years and started his career at ALDI Süd, beginning in raw cocoa purchasing in Germany and then spent 15 years in global raw materials purchasing at Ferrero in Luxembourg as head of group raw material procurement.

In autumn 2018 he returned to Germany as head of sustainability before becoming director of global procurement raw materials and group sustainability for Ferrero a year ago.

As president of Caobisco, Cristiano will represent the interests of the European confectionery industry for two years.

In addition, he is also a member of the Federation of Cocoa Commerce (FCC), the World Cocoa Foundation (WCF) and the International Cocoa Initiative (ICI).
