ADM connects to nature with Brazilian acquisition and new corporate identity

ADM has updated its corporate tagline to ‘Unlocking Nature. Enriching Life’, which it says reflects the company’s evolution to stay on the cutting-edge of today’s trends.

The Chicago, Illinois-headquartered company has made numerous portfolio adjustments in recent years, including investments, divestitures and acquisitions. It recently expanded its already extensive operations in Brazil with the acquisition of Yerbalatina Phytoactives, a pioneering natural plant-based extracts and ingredients manufacturer.

Yerbalatina uses proprietary cool-drying technology to transform fruits, vegetables and plants like acerola, acai, guarana and green coffee into extracts and ingredients for use in food, beverages and health products

According to Vince Macciocchi, president of ADM’s Nutrition business, the global retail market for foods that support health & wellness is estimated at $750bn and growing.

“More and more consumers are turning to foods and supplements to help enhance health and wellness, and we are continuing to build a leadership position in that important market segment,” ​he said.

Vikram Luthar, president of ADM’s Health & Wellness business, added, “ADM is a global leader in nutrition, and we are proud to be at the cutting edge of many of today’s trends, including those toward fortified foods, beverages and supplements that enhance health and come from natural sources.

“Today, we’re adding to our ability to meet those important needs for our customers.”
