Robert De Niro is the latest Hollywood A-lister to star in Warburton’s newest advertising campaign, set in Bolton in the UK.

The Oscar-winner plays a gangster in a GoodFellas spoof, entitled GoodBagels, trying to thwart the sales of Warburtons’ new range of bagels in favour of their New York products.

Warburtons chairman Jonathan Warburton appears alongside The Godfather Part II star.

Getting into the bagel business

“It was a pleasure to fly to the UK to film this ad with the Warburtons family, and star alongside Jonathan,” said De Niro.

"Getting into the bagel business has been great fun, and I hope everyone enjoys the final cut."

Chairman Warburton added, “As an iconic New Yorker, Robert De Niro knows his way around a bagel so it's great to have his seal of approval.

“We've spent months perfecting the recipe and process to ensure we delight families up and down the country with the best thing since sliced bread.”

De Niro is not the first celebrity to plug Warburtons.

Sylvester Stallone starred in one of the firm’s ads in 2015, recreating a scene from Rocky.

In 2017, comedian Peter Kay took center stage in the company’s ‘Price & Breadjudice’ campaign, adapted around the Warburtons family history.
