Kraft Heinz’s platform to foster the next generation of F&B players has announced its second class of participants it believes will shape the future of food.

The five start-ups include Blake’s Seed Based, BRAMi, Ka-Pop! Ancient inGRAINed Snack Co, Origin Almond and Tiny Giants, all of which fall within Springboard’s growth pillars of Natural & Organic, Specialty & Craft, Health & Performance and Experiential brands.

Over the next 16 weeks, the selected start-ups will participate in a program of learning, funding, infrastructure access and mentorship in Chicago, US.

“All five companies in our second Incubator class offer delicious products that cater to the better-for-you offerings consumers are demanding,”​ said Kelly Reinke, Springboard Incubator Lead.

“Springboard exists to help shape the future of food, and we are confident our next class does just that.”

Springboard has also announced the application period for the third incubator class​ – which takes place from August 5 to November 22, 2019 – is now open. Deadline for submission is June 14.

Blake’s Seed Based

Blake’s Seed Based mission is to make seed based, Top 8 Allergen-Free snacks accessible to everyone – for those with food intolerances and those without.

Its snack bars – in Raspberry and Pineapple variants – contain pumpkin, sunflower and flax seeds that are high in nutrients, minerals and antioxidants.

The start-up also donates a bar to a school in need for every box purchased.

BRAMi

BRAMi has reimagined lupini beans, a Mediterranean legume packed with protein and fiber.

The beans also contain a fraction of the calories, carbs, fat and sugar of other snacks.
