Handcrafted gluten-free granola maker The Toasted Oat is rolling out in Whole Foods Market across the US.

The expansion comes on the heels of the US recording a 300% growth in the number of Americans adopting a gluten-free diet – now totalling around three million people – according to the Mayo Clinic.

The Toasted Oat offers the only soft, butter-baked granola in the market, which offers a seachange from traditional granola. Beyond snacking, it also can be used as a topping for cobblers, or a replacement ingredient for piecrusts and stuffing.

“Our gluten-free granola is a hit with all consumers because it tastes so good, more like a fresh baked oatmeal cookie than traditional dry granola,” said Erika Boll, CEO of the Ohio-based startup.

“We make our granola with whole ingredients to offer consumers a healthy substitute to over-processed options. Like Whole Foods Market, we take great pride in delivering on quality and as such, focus on the flavor and functionality of our products and are thrilled that more people can enjoy our granola this holiday season and beyond.”

The Toasted Oat products can also be found at The Fresh Market, Wegman’s, Hannaford, Price Chopper, Central Market and other retailers nationally.
