Gradz Bakery has entered the premium cake and dessert market, launching a range of products to compliment its bakery line.

It is the first time, owners Romuald Damaz and his business partner Agnes Gabriel-Damaz have expanded into desserts and it is initially available to independent retailers, coffee shops and delis.

The range includes a Vienna Cheesecake – a thin sponge base with a layer of fruit jam and cheesecake with notes of lemon, orange and vanilla topped with dark chocolate layer and a sprinkling of coconut. This is sold in either 12 or 16 slice boxes.

Apple Cake with diced apple pieces with cinnamon and raisins cooked on a shortcrust pastry base with a hint of plum jam, served chilled or warmed with ice-cream, sold in 16 slices.

And a Fruit Tart,a yogurt style cake with plum flavour, sold in 32 pre-cut pieces.

We wanted to offer something different, very premium in the cake and dessert arena,” said Gabriel-Damaz.

“The same care and attention to detail that makes our breads so different is in these new recipes which we think customers will find irresistible.”
