Global bakery firm Carrs Foods has launched the first product under its newly-revamped Baker Street brand.

The launch of Jumbo Street Hot Dog Rolls is part of a £500K ($676,000) investment that Carrs Foods International has made in its Baker Street brand, which includes 18 different bakery products with a retail value of over £14m ($19m).

The investment will encompass new product development, new branding, packaging and marketing support.

The extra-large rolls were developed to meet the consumer trend of trading up to larger hot dogs, are pre-cut as a time-saving benefit and have been launched in time for the barbecue season.

Fresher for longer

Additionally, they have a minimum shelf life of 40 days, helping consumers to both minimize food waste and save money.

“Baker Street is delivering products that are fresher for longer, a key driver for the brand and this is particularly important for impulsive meal occasions like barbecues,” said Jeremy Gilboy, MD of Carrs Foods.

Baker Street Jumbo Hot Dog Rolls are available through wholesale and convenience outlets nationwide, including Bestway, Nisa and Appleby Westward, in packs of four for a RSP of £1.69 ($2.28).
