Mettler Toledo starts production at $34.42m China facility

Mettler Toledo Measurement Technology has started production at its $34.42m facility in Changzhou, China.

The first phase of the plant is the third manufacturing subsidiary has at Changzhou National Hi-Tech District (CND), for industrial scales and systems and precision instruments.

The company produces weighing technologies for the international market and China including platform scales, rail scales, crane scales, counting scales, bulk scales and mechanical and electrical integration products.

Mettler Toledo owns over 200 patents, including more than 40 invention patents. The three facilities in the district now serve as Mettler Toledo Group's global R&D, manufacturing and procurement center.

Owing to its geographical location, CND has over 1,000 foreign-invested firms that have located a facility within the district, including US-based aluminum producer Novelis and specialty chemicals maker Ashland, and machining solution provider Georg Fischer.
