US bakery business BakeMark has acquired Best Brands from CSM Bakery Solutions for an undisclosed sum.

The transaction comes a month after CSM Bakery Solutions sold BakeMark to Pamplona Capital Management, following CSM’s refocussed strategy to concentrate on its core business in Europe and North America, according to president and CEO Marianne Kirkegaard.

The sale of Best Brand to BakeMark includes the brand and product portfolio, including bakery mixes, fillings, icings, as well as frozen bakery products.

Jim Parker, president & CEO of BakeMark, said the acquisition is a good fit with BakeMark, noting that both lines offer products across multiple categories that meet the needs of today’s bakers.

“We are excited to integrate another industry-leading brand into BakeMark's portfolio of brands and even more excited at the growth opportunities it will deliver to our customers,” said Parker.

BakeMark is based in Pico Rivera, California, and distributes a wide range of bakery ingredients and products, including the brands Westco, BakeSense, BakeQwik, Trigal Dorado, C’est Vivan and Sprineklin, to both local and international customers.

The bakery supplier operates three manufacturing plants and 25 distribution centers across North America.
