CSP Technologies will acquire Maxwell Chase Technologies, a producer of absorbent and non-absorbent packaging for the food industry.

Maxwell Chase, based in Atlanta, produces active packaging through moisture control to the quality and extend shelf life in fresh foods, including fresh-cut fruits, vegetables, meats, poultry, and seafood.

The company also produces processing equipment such as slicers, tray sealers and pouch fillers.

John Belfance, CEO, CSP Technologies, said the company will use the acquisition to diversify its business profile as part of its long-term strategy to develop active packaging for the healthcare and food industries.

We are very excited about adding Maxwell Chase to the CSP family,” he said.

Its differentiated product offering supported by its expertise in moisture-absorbent technology and focus on high quality and exceptional customer service is a perfect fit for our business.”

CSP Technologies focuses on technologies and designs that ensure product protection, extend shelf life, and enhance brand recognition, including vials, films and blisters, molded components and specialty packaging capabilities.

The acquisition makes CSP Technologies the new standard bearer for Maxwell Chase’s signature Fresh-R-Pax absorbent, among other packaging for absorbent trays.
