Ukrplastic and Dow Chemical have signed a Memorandum of Intent to strengthen their long-term partnership to increase the supply of products to the flexible packaging material market.

Discussions took place between Irina Mirochnik, chairman of the board, Ukrplastic, and Grant Fisher, regional director, special plastic packaging Europe, Dow Chemical, to implement the basic provisions of the Memorandum with initial results announced at the end of the year.

According to Fisher, the global plastic packaging market is growing faster than GDP, by about 4% a year, so to increase production a company should invest in high-tech production facilities.

"We are at the final stage of construction of the Sadar plant, which will be the world's largest integrated chemical enterprise constructed in one phase. This advanced system ensures delivery of substantial quantities of products to our customers," he said.

Ukrplastic is one of our key partners in Eastern Europe, and we are looking forward to good results.”

Mirochnik added Ukrplastic is interested in deepening its partnership with Dow Chemical and plans to carry out ‘a number of interesting joint projects’.
