Rigid Containers, VPK’s subsidiary in the UK, will continue to run the ICS Europaks business as a stand-alone unit when customary closing conditions are met.
Richard Coward, managing director of Rigid Containers, said it is excited to bring the newly-acquired firm into the group.
“Once the manufacturing site in Limerick becomes part of the Rigid Containers Group, we can reduce lead times for the Irish market, which will further confirm our market position.”
VPK Packaging Group has also launched its corrugated packaging business in Poland, adding to its corrugated sheet business under the Aquila brand.
Investment was triggered by the need to improve service to European customers and geographical coverage of VPK’s corrugated packaging facilities.
The first production line for box manufacturing has been launched. Start-ups of other production equipment will continue during Q1 2015.
Total production capacity installed in Radomsko plant reaches the volume of 70 M sqm of corrugated packaging, standard and die-cut with full color printing in flexo.
