INTERPACK 2014
Coveris Group unites for first time at Interpack
Kathrin Bolle, marketing manager, PACCOR, told FoodProductionDaily it is the first time the group will appear together as one at the show.
Important show
“Interpack is an important international tradeshow giving Coveris the chance to showcase its product packaging and coating for end-user and industrial markets of both divisions, the Global Flexible Division and Global Rigid Division,” she said.
“We want to create awareness of our corporate branding in the market and prove we are a local partner with a global reach.”
The group will be launching several products this year including Neocell PP+ (thermoformable and breakable PP film for FFS applications); VenDuo (a vending insulation cup, based on the DuoSmart concept); light-weighted products (tubs and lids with up to 20% material savings) and Slidewrap linerless labels.
Neocell is a thermoformable and breakable co-extruded 3-layer polystyrene (PS) film with a gaz-injected low-density middle layer.
Biggest challenge
Bolle said the biggest challenge manufacturers face today is the packaging market is a price-driven and sensitive industry, with increasing or unstable raw material prices because of a decrease in raw material availability.
“We meet this challenge by developing and manufacturing customized packaging not from a price point of view but from a value-added point of view,” she added.
Coveris is the sixth largest global plastic packaging company in the world with development, manufacture, and sourcing of flexible and rigid plastic packaging and coatings for consumer and industrial end-users.
The company has a Center for Development & Innovation (CDI), in Zell, Germany, where new technologies and customized products for rigid product packagings are developed.
Its Thermoforming In-Mold Labeling (TIML) won a Packaging Oscar in Paris, France in November 2013 for its ability to meet the industry’s increasing demand for more sophisticated packaging decoration.
Coveris is at Interpack, Düsseldorf from May 8-14 in Hall 10 Stand E43.
