Roll up! Roll up! For the Pro Carton ECMA 2014 Awards
The award looks at the most attractive and successful cartons which have entered the market across Europe and the winners will attend a gala evening on September 18, in Sorrento, Italy.

“Cartons can do so much more than other packaging: they have a positive appeal at the Point of Sale, they are perfect brand messengers and are unbeatable in terms of sustainability,” said Andreas Blaschke, president, ECMA (European Carton Makers Association).
“The award gives all partners in the packaging supply chain the opportunity to demonstrate their skills to a wider audience as well as presenting the creative opportunities offered by carton packaging.”
Invitation for entries are now online in eight categories and five languages (English, German, French, Italian, Spanish) at www.procartonecmaaward.com. Deadline for submissions is June 6, 2014.
The awards represents all partners of the supply chain – cartonboard and carton industry, as well as designers, brand owners and the retail trade.
Winners last year included: Twinkle Box an isotherm packaging for the Diamond Collection of Moët & Chandon by Van Genechten Angoulêm; Griesson De Beukelaer’s ChocOlé, a cylindrical, resealable container chocolate sticks; Barry Callebaut’s Nut Box and Danone and carton manufacturer Remmert Dekker for its Party Packaging Lovely Cookies.
Award winner roadshow
The 2013 judging panel saw Satkar Gidda from SiebertHead; Wilfried Duivenvoorden from Unilever; Anne Harding from Marks&Spencer and Stan Akkermans from Mars.
As part of their prize, companies get to showcase their designs on the www.procarton.comand www.ecma.org websites and a roadshow with the cartons of the winners at trade shows, congresses and events across Europe
The award-winning 2013 packaging is currently on tour throughout Europe. So far it has taken in Moscow, Cologne, Stuttgart, Hamburg, Birmingham and Zurich, Warsaw will be added this month and Interpack Düsseldorf (May 8-14) on the Pro Carton stand (9J13).
