Mocon has partnered with Meyer Service and Supply to open two service centres.

Meyer will convert existing space at its headquarters in Minneapolis, US into a 3,000 square feet service laboratory and a second facility will be in Brantford, Ontario.

The partnership means Canadian customers do not have to import replacement parts or send Mocon brand instrumentation back to the US for service and there will be five trained service professionals to handle onsite or laboratory service, depending on the instrument type and location.

Rich Barrett, regional manager, Mocon said it announced the partnership to improve customer support in other countries and it wanted to set up several ‘local’ certified service locations.

This partnership will allow our Canadian customers to avoid import/export costs and shorten the service timeline,” he said.

Because the service technicians at Meyer have received the same level of training that we provide at our own Mocon laboratories, customers can be assured their instruments will be receiving a first-rate service.”

Initially, Meyer will be servicing Mocon’s Pac-Check headspace (oxygen and carbon dioxide) instruments used for quality control of modified atmosphere packages.

For the past 15-plus years, Meyer has been providing sales and service for Mocon’s Dansensor package testing business unit.

This includes quality control instruments for modified atmosphere gas packages, in-line gas blenders and leak detectors.

Mocon began selling instrumentation to Canadia last year.
