Five US senators have called on Kellogg to ‘act swiftly’ and resolve its Memphis lockout, which has seen more than 200 employees unable to work at the ready-to-eat cereal plant for over four months.
The National Action Network (NAN) has stepped in to try and end a three-month stalemate between Kellogg and more than 200 workers over casual labor contracts.
The Kellogg Company has locked out workers at its Memphis plant over union rows regarding casual labor contracts; a decision it says has left the company in a “frustrating and disappointing” position.
Kellogg has confirmed there will be further job cuts at its cereals factory in Memphis in the coming weeks as part of a round of layoffs first announced in April, but says the plant as a whole has a viable future.
