Fruit pouch snack maker opens second US plant
GoGo squeeZ is a squeezable, re-sealable, 100% fruit in a pouch snack.
The company will start trial runs on two production lines by the end of the year. Once it is at full capacity it will produce 60% of GoGo squeeZ’s base line US products.
Michel Larroche, CEO, Materne North America, said the move is part of a wider vision to grow the brand across the US.
The factory will be the firm’s second US location, at a site formerly owned by Micron Technology.
The building, which has been vacant since 2007, will be demolished and replaced with a manufacturing centre and retrofitted as an FDA-level food production facility.
Originally founded in France, where it is known as Pom'Potes, GoGo squeeZ it launched in the US in June 2008 and opened its facility in Traverse City, Michigan, in 2011.
The company claims GoGo squeeze is made from natural ingredients and it sources more than 90% of its fruits from farmers and orchards in the US.
