The Real Good Food Company (RGFC) has appointed former British Sugar boss Gino De Jaegher as its new chief operating officer, effective immediately.

De Jaegher was md of British Sugar for five years, before leaving the firm in 2012 and taking up a consultancy role at RGFC.

Before this, he spent 21 years with Procter and Gamble – based in Belgium, Turkey and the UK – working on brands such as Pringles, Pampers and Pantene.

Responsibility

In this newly created role, he will take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the business, with the mds of each of the firm’s five operating businesses reporting directly to him.

RGFC’s five businesses are sugar distributer Napier Brown, bakery ingredients companies Renshaw and R&W Scott, dairy firm Garrett Ingredients and dessert manufacturer Haydens Bakery.

Pieter Totté, RGFC executive chairman, said: “I am delighted that Gino has agreed to join us on a long-term basis and also to join our group executive team.

“His appointment to this role will enable me to concentrate on the strategic and, specifically, the commercial development of the group overall, and I feel confident that we now have a structure in place which will enable us to develop our businesses to achieve our growth targets.”
