Innovia Films has infused $31m into a facility to boost packaging film production.

The company is looking to step up capacity to meet demand at its UK site for biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP) film. The investment will boost the firm’s global output by an estimated 10%, as well as fund research to find new products and markets.

In addition, the firm is installing a new gas turbine at the plant. The turbine reportedly will improve energy efficiency and performance. Further, the turbine reportedly will reduce carbon footprint of all products produced at the site, including compostable NatureFlex films.

This is another step forward in developing our company and supports our ongoing commitment to customer service, innovation and growth,” said David Beeby, Innovia Group CEO.
