Videojet has launched six colors for its 2300 Series large-character inkjet printers, suitable for decorating and marking a range of food packages.

The inks include M515-K Red, M516-K Orange, M517-K Green, M518-K Blue, M519-K Purple and M520-K Yellow. The products broaden the package printing possibilities for the high-resolution, large-character marking (LCM) printers.

Expanded opportunities

John Kirschner, Videojet supplies business marketing director, says the added inks create new opportunities for food manufacturers, packaging companies and other operations.

These six color inks are designed to meet a wide range of unique customer applications,” he said.

The colors reportedly can help food firms increase brand differentiation, as well as code assurance and durability. Further, the ink colors are highly compatible with others, which simplifies changeover, and easy to use.

Material issue

Along with the company’s M512-K black ink, the six new ink colors reportedly perform well on porous papers and kraft board materials, including those with high recycle content. Food and packaging firms can use the products to brand packaging, add identification and coding and more.

Further, the inks adhere to plain and coated paper packaging, bundles of pulp-based product and other packaging. Suitable for brand identification on secondary cartons, these inks also can differentiate on outer wrappings of products like paper stock.

The inkjet printer and colored inks also can help with inventory and quality control. Spot colors can be used to print in-plant visual management codes.
