Enwave to sell Moon Cheese snacks

Produced by NutraDried, in Washington State, the snacks will be available in select stores in the Pacific Northwest in September, before being rolled out on a larger scale.

Brent Charleton, VP, EnWave said the company signed the deal with Wiebe to draw upon his experience in the retail food space. Its target audience is ‘kids’ lunches, people looking for a quick snack on the go and for sharing with friends’.

Enwave recently signed an agreement with NDH Retail B.V. to develop a number of healthy cheese snacks for potential commercial distribution in several European nations including the Netherlands, Belgium, Russia and the Ukraine.

Exclusive license​

“NutraDried is a completely separate entity from NDH Retail B.V., as NutraDried has an exclusive license to produce and sell dried cheese snack products in the U.S., while NDH is focused on the development of several markets in Europe,” said Charleton.

Under the terms of the agreement, NDH will lease a test-scale nutra​REV machine for its European HQ this month to produce local cheese samples for a broader market over the next few months under its own brand.

If the broader market testing is successful, a first commercial nutra​REV machine order is expected in the fourth quarter of 2013 for installation at a plant in Maastricht, Netherlands, with an expected start-up by mid-2014.

Further expansion​

If established, this plant will initially produce commercial product for the Belgium and Dutch markets with exportation also expected to Russia and the Ukraine until a market is developed to support a second plant in this region.

NDH has existing distribution relationships with numerous companies including Albert Heijn, one of Netherland’s largest supermarket chains as well as some of the largest retail food distributors in Russia and the Ukraine.
